As a roughly 2/3 deaf individual, I am uniquely qualified to make fun of deaf people (because unlike some would have people believe, I really don't take myself or my "issues" all that seriously). Deafness ~ while not at all fun and often a source of embarrassment for the deaf person ~ can actually be hilarious at times (which is not a problem for those of us who are able to laugh at ourselves)! ;-) Actual case in point:

I was once at a gym working out and I was resting between sets on a weight machine. I had my head bent (trying to breathe, dammit, lol) and a strange guy, trying to make conversation I reckon, walked up and asked me if I was concentrating.

I looked up and stared at him in shock and disgust, then proceeded to tell him in no uncertain terms that it was "none of his damn business, perv." My best friend was giggling uncontrollably, trying to get me to shut up already. And what, exactly, was my problem? I thought he asked me if I was "constipated."

Anyway, here is a bit of deaf humor for y'all that is ~ uncharacteristically ~ not at my own expense! :-P~~
