<---Ew. My cooking has often been said to taste like "crap" ~ but at least no one wrote a book about it!
Some of the other featured covers are unintentionally funny/crude, and a few of them I didn't quite "get" but overall this was a pretty cool link for a short time-waster.
~*~
(Regarding my own cooking, it was my clever master plan all along to cook so badly that no one would ever ask me to because I absolutely hate cooking. It worked out very well for me. Hah.)
Below, my dire warning:

"A place ~ in cyberspace ~ where Dull Men can share thoughts and experiences, free from
pressures to be 'in' and trendy, free instead to enjoy the simple, ordinary things of everyday life."
Notice: March is Maple Syrup Month ~ watching sap drip.
Some of the many other unexciting features:
-Extreme napping
-A comprehensive report on the rotation of airport carouselles worldwide
-A Safe Excitement page that lists approved forms of "entertainment" such as Thesaurus fun, amazing feats while circling a foot, metronome listening, counting paper clips to ensure the amount is exactly the number stated on the box, rotating a mattress (caution: could be too strenuous for some), computer defragmenting, among others
-Collections, such as coat hangers, sand and hymnals
-Groaners (REALLY bad jokes)
-A listing of Rest Areas
-Approved dull Web sites

The Goth-O-Matic Poetry Generator
"Interested in birthing your own bastard of diabolically morose proportion? There's nothing simpler. Choose one of the classic topics of Darkly Gothic poetry [listed on the site], then you'll be taken to the Goth-O-MaticTM Poetry Generator. Construct the opus by making the selections that best fit your tormented desires, and choose an appropriate image to loom ominously over your creation."
As you all know, I can come up with my own existential angst-ridden prose when I simply am not up for shits and giggles (see post below). However, this site can be a great substitute when you need to let the world know that it sucks ass but you're just not feeling that special creative spark. Must have an appreciation (or tolerance, if you're actually goth) for the satirization of the gothic culture. Also, must enjoy portraying your angst using a series of drop-down menus (kind of like Mad Libs for the disillusioned). Wallow in self-pity without all the work!
Below, I chose the "Feeling Very Sorry for Yourself Darkly Gothic Poem" (there are four other types to choose from). Here is my result (you can choose which depressing image to use, also):
Alone in Darkness
the night falls in a heavy, suffocating cloak, cold and alone are we.
the light for which you pine
flares once, then dies,
smothered by a velvet ebon nothingness.
all hope must sicken and die.
your passion throbs no more.
how could you fail to believe?
our dark emotions surround us, crying,
we have lost our light.
[Note: Oddly enough, this tends to make you laugh after you're done and can potentially ruin a perfectly good negative, crappy mood ~ so proceed with caution!]

Failure Now An Option
WASHINGTON - In a stunning reversal of more than 200 years of conventional wisdom, failure, "traditionally believed to be an unacceptable outcome for a wide range of tasks and goals," is now increasingly seen as a viable alternative to success, sources confirmed Tuesday.
Americans have always been told that they should succeed at all costs... but based on new evidence, this can no longer be called true... if, in fact, it ever was. As failure continues to dominate the American landscape, this mantra must be overruled.
We have no choice but to revoke failure's non-optional status, effective immediately. Now all citizens will be able to step back, stare down the hardship and difficulty they will face in the pursuit of success, and say, "Fuck that -- this isn't worth it."
I know many of us are greatly relieved. I have always embraced failure and incorporate it into my life on a regular basis ~ and now I feel truly validated.
[PS: For those not familiar with "The Onion", it is satire. ;-)]
